During this time of the year I don't have a lot of exciting adventures going on. It's mostly skating the ramp, ping pong, and getting school stuff done. I think that I am going to switch the focus to other people that I think are doing awesome things. For my first installment I am going to start with my Dad.
My dad has written me a letter every week since I moved away. Two pages of yellow lined paper full of what is going on in his life and questions about mine. I look forward to getting it every week because it gives me a nice pause to put aside any stress and read what he has to say. After a recent conversation with one of my friends whose dad was completely out of the picture, I was reminded of how lucky I am to have such an exceptional dad.

It's been a while
I know it's been a while since I have posted anything on here. I have been busy with school, and although my lesson plans are effective and engaging, they are not good content for the blog. Here are the few photos that I have taken over the past month or two.
Bart got a contract to fix Carmel Skatepark. He patched a bunch of holes added flat rails to the down rails, and fixed the metal on the steep banks. I don't think that I will ever be sold on Carmel park, but it is way better than it used to be. This was Bart's second job with his new skatepark company Hunger Skateparks. Be on the look out for awesome new parks to spring up in the Midwest and beyond.
Scott got a hell of a sprained ankle a couple of months ago and has been sidelined since. I saw him do a couple of tailslides yesterday so it seems like he is on the road to recovery. Here he is heckling from the sidelines at first Thursdays.
The amazing weather this weekend made for another epic Homewoods session. Kye and Liam were hanging out on the roof.

Hermann's Hole Fall Trip 2012.
Just got back from another successful Fall Trip. 16 Indiana boys and girls made the trek back to Hermann Missouri to skate an amazing backyard skatepark. We had several new additions to the crew and they all killed it. Thanks to JP for letting us come out, we had a great time. Desira took a bunch of awesome photos and she is posting them on her site. http://minkoil.tumblr.com/

Fall Trip
It's that time of year again. We are all hopping in the van and hitting the road for the weekend. This weekend we are revisiting the place where this annual trip all started. Outside of St. Louis lies an epic skatepark in the woods called Hermann's Hole. JP has been kind enough to let us come stay again. It will be hard to top the first trip there, but we are sure going to try.
This is a photo of what was there five years ago. It looks insane now. This is my favorite trip of the year and I can't wait to hit the road!

Ryan's QP
Went and skated Ryan's new quarter pike last night. Twelve feet wide with lightning fast concrete coping.

Zionsville.
Scott, Jenna, Colin, Ricky, and I all went up to skate Zionsville for the day yesterday. Jeff, Paul, and Wes met us there. The weather was perfect and we had a pretty fun sesh.
Jeff got creative with throwing the ball for ricky while Paul and Jenna look on. Jenna is leaving us for Portland in a few days, she has been a good addition to the crew for the past couple months.
Scott got mvp for this trip. Here he is with a frontside air over the hip.

Cardwell Visit
My sister and I went to Nashville TN this weekend to visit our friends Hank and Lauren and their beautiful children, Lottie, Lem, and Clay. We had a great time catching up with them. My camera stayed in the bag more than I would have liked on this trip, mostly because I was to busy having a great time. Thanks Again to Hank and Lauren for hosting us.

Milwaukee
Chris got a new car in Milwaukee a few weeks back so Chris, Scott, Erin, and myself took a little trip to pick it up.

Chris is going to get so many chicks in this thing.
We had a lot of time to kill, so we went and hung out in a park for awhile. Here is Ricky demonstrating his tennis ball prowess.
